Load-shedding Update

Eskom announced that whilst some generating units have returned to service since Sunday, some are experiencing delays.
Due to these delays in returning the units back to service and the need to conserve emergency reserves, Stage 2 loadshedding will be implemented from 05:00 until 16:00 on Wednesday, followed by Stage 3 loadshedding from 16:00 until 05:00 on Thursday.
This pattern of implementing Stage 2 loadshedding in the morning and Stage 3 loadshedding in the evening will be repeated daily until further notice.
Eskom will monitor the system and communicate should any significant changes occur.
We are scheduled to be off the grid at the following times:
Wednesday:
03:00 – 05:30;
11:00 – 13:30; and
19:00 – 21:30

Happy Heritage Day, Mzansi!

Today, as we celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures, traditions, and histories that make up this beautiful nation, let’s come together in unity and pride. Heritage Day is a reminder that our diversity is our strength, and it’s what makes South Africa truly exceptional.

From the rhythms of the Zulu drums to the colorful traditions of the Cape Malay community, from the vibrant cultures of our indigenous peoples to the delicious aromas of a traditional braai, our heritage is a source of endless inspiration and joy.

Let’s take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey that has brought us to this point, honoring the struggles and sacrifices of those who came before us and paved the way for the rainbow nation we are today.

On this Heritage Day, let’s also look to the future with hope and optimism. Let’s work together to build a nation that embraces all its citizens, regardless of background, and celebrates the unique contributions each one of us brings to the table.

As you gather with family and friends, share your heritage with pride, and take the time to learn about the traditions and stories of others. This is how we continue to grow as a nation, fostering understanding and unity.

Happy Heritage Day, South Africa! 🌍🇿🇦❤️ Let’s celebrate today, and every day, as a testament to the beauty of our diversity and the strength of our unity.

Amazizi Private-Public Partnership

Amazizi Secondary School benefits through Private-Public Partnership with Alpine Heath…

T Today, Alpine Heath Resort in partnership with the Okhahlamba Local Municipality handed over 55 bunk beds for 110 young female learners that board at the Amazizi Secondary School. Prior to this generous contribution, these students slept on thin sponge mattresses placed on the floor, a condition that was far from conducive to their academic pursuits and overall well-being.

This initiative is just the first phase of a more comprehensive community project, which will culminate in the establishment of ablution facilities on-site before the 2024 school year commences. These facilities will ensure a hygienic and comfortable living environment for our learners, further empowering them to focus on their studies and chase their dreams.

In her address at the handover, Deputy Mayor, Cllr. N.E Tshabalala stated that “Creating enabling environments for academic excellence is fundamental to shaping the future of our youth. Quality education is the bedrock upon which the aspirations of our young learners’ rest. Projects like this one provide the necessary foundation for these learners to thrive academically.”

The importance of forging and maintaining public-private partnerships cannot be overstated and the municipality is committed to building and strengthening these relationships. These partnerships foster synergy between different sectors, amplifying our collective capacity to bring about positive change.

The event was attended by management of Alpine Heath Resort, municipal officials, the school governing body, principal, teachers and the learners.

As a municipality, we would like to thank Alpine Heath for their generous contribution to the school. We value our relationship and look forward to strengthening it further, creating a lasting impact on the lives of our learners and the prosperity of our community.
